Hi, my name is Becky Rosty. Over the last few years, God has repeatedly invited me to a campfire of grace. This place of rest, fellowship, and letting go of all our attempts at proving worthy is found in John 21:
When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish lying on it, and bread.
“Bring some of the fish you’ve just caught,” Jesus told them. 11 So Simon Peter got up and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish—153 of them. Even though there were so many, the net was not torn.
“Come and have breakfast,” Jesus told them.
The story of Peter, finding grace and hot breakfast around a campfire with Jesus, has given me great perspective in my own life. Spending time with Jesus is such a beautiful, necessary act of faith. It requires me to stop hauling my nets of achievements. To stop trying to prove worthy. To let go of busyness and sit at the feet of Him who has already accomplished everything for me.
This kind of rest is made possible only by His grace. He invites us, unworthy-human-sinners, to warm our weary hearts by his side.
I hope that this blog will be one way God extends that invitation to you. Gather around friends! With our Bibles open and marshmallows roasting, we can meet with our Savior together for this faith, hope, and s’mores collective.
